India and Pakistan will face each other at the Dubai International Stadium on August 28. Both sides are currently gearing up for the high-octane clash, the first match between them since last year’s T20 World Cup. While India’s Jasprit Bumrah will miss the entire tournament, Pakistan also took a major blow before their Asia Cup campaign kicks off as the squad will see its top bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi miss the continental event.

Though he will miss the Asia Cup in the UAE, Shaheen made sure not to pass up the opportunity to face his Indian opponents ahead of his side’s showdown.

The Pakistan Cricket Board uploaded a video to social media late Thursday showing Shaheen in encounters with the likes of Virat Kohli, Yuzvendra Chahal, Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul.

His meeting with the Indian wicketkeeper turned out to be a rather funny one.

During his conversation with Pant, Shaheen hilariously told him that he wants to hit if the Indian wants to hit left-handed and one-handed sixes like him.

“Yaar main soch raha hu aapki tarah bas batting shuru kar du, ek hath se chhakke lagaau (I’m thinking of starting batting like you, hitting one-handed sixes),” said Shaheen Afridi.

Meanwhile, Pakistan has been injured again with fast bowler Mohammad Wasim withdrawing from training with back pain ahead of the opening match of the Asia Cup campaign against India.

The 21-year-old was sent for an MRI scan to determine the severity of his injury after complaining of lower back pain during a netting session at the ICC Academy in Dubai on Thursday.
