Three teens shot dead in South Austin, officials say

Three teens were shot in South Austin on Friday afternoon and one was in critical condition, officials said.

Police responded to the shooting in block 400 of South Laramie Avenue around 2:30 p.m., according to a media report from the Chicago Police Department.

They were “possibly” fighting near the sidewalk when they were shot.

A 17-year-old boy was shot multiple times and taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, while another 17-year-old boy was shot in the ankle and taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition, police said.

A 19-year-old man was shot in the back and arm and was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition, police said.

No one has been arrested and police are continuing to investigate the shooting.
