Gallagher hires Wright from Nexus for aerospace practices

Gallagher has appointed Tim Wright as a consultant in his global aerospace practice. In his new role, Wright will be responsible for supporting international aerospace clients with risk management and specialist insurance advice, as well as supporting business development in the industry.

Wright is a highly experienced practitioner who has worked in aerospace insurance for over 30 years, representing clients while being a broker and underwriting aerospace risks from all major operators, satellite manufacturers and launch vehicle providers.

Most recently, Wright served as chief underwriting officer for space at Nexus Underwriting, which acquired Altitude Risk Partners in 2018, a company co-founded by Wright in 2014. He began his career as a real estate agent with Willis in the late 1980s before joining Johnson and Higgins, before the company was bought by Marsh in 1997. After a stint with Aon, Tim became a space underwriter at Global Aerospace Underwriting Managers in 2001, a position he held until co-founder of Altitude Risk Partners.

Aon Appoints Global Head of ESG Transaction Advisory Services

In this new role, O’Gorman will lead the creation and development of a holistic environmental, social and governance (ESG) proposition aligned with M&A and other transactions designed to meet growing demand for pre-acquisition ESG solutions and post-closing support, including advisory and transaction services for portfolio companies owned by financial sponsors.

Prior to joining Aon, O’Gorman was a management consultant with a career focus on climate risk, the energy transition, renewable energy and sustainability in general. Working with PwC, Baringa Partners and as an independent advisor, she advised central governments and private sector companies in the UK and EU, particularly in energy and financial services.

Most recently, O’Gorman advised a multinational financial services company on how to comply with recent regulations by incorporating climate risk considerations into its business and operating model. She completed an MBA at the University of Cambridge after studying International Business at the University of Applied Science in Dresden, Germany.

Sompo Int’l appoints Generali’s Chiurlo as European head of A&H

He holds a master’s degree in political science from Università Statale di Milano, Italy.
